Chief Witmer

Chief Witmer is a 30 year veteran of the fire service and has served the public in a variety of positions throughout his career. His past assignments included Division Chief South Bay Operations, Battalion Chief South Santa Clara County Fire District, Training Safety and EMS Chief. As a Fire Captain his past assignments included Schedule Structural, Wildland, Emergency Command Center, Training and Helitack.

In his current position, Chief Witmer over sees the Santa Clara Unit of CAL FIRE which includes Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, and the Western portions of Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties, The Morgan Hill Fire Department, and the South Santa Clara County Fire District.

Chief Witmer is a past member CAL FIRE Incident Command Team 1 and Team 5 serving as Safety Officer, Operations Section Chief, and Deputy Incident Commander.

Chief Witmer is a Public Officer, Certified Fire Officer, and qualified State Fire Marshal Instructor
