Peninsula Clean Energy
Peninsula Clean Energy

Charlsie Chang is a Community Outreach Fellow at Peninsula Clean Energy.

Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) is a joint program of the San Mateo County and all its cities to help meet local climate action goals. It provides cleaner electricity at lower rates to almost all San Mateo County residents, businesses, and institutions. Peninsula Clean Energy works in partnership with PG&E, which continues to maintain the electrical grid, provide customer billing, and administer energy efficiency and discount programs. After one year of full countywide operations, Peninsula Clean Energy expects to save East Palo Alto residents $329,000 on their electricity bills. Countywide, electric customers will save about $17 million and avoid 680 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions. Residents, businesses and public institutions all automatically benefit from their share of savings. Meanwhile, large public agencies such as school districts will reap significant savings.
