Sonja Shin is the host of Fleet Week TV and Public Affairs Officer for San Francisco Fleet Week Association. She consults as a Content Strategist for Oakland Military Institute College Preparatory and Granite Expo and is a pro talent represented by Blackwell Files in San Francisco. She has reported news for NBC Bay Area and KPIX-TV, and produced for The Today Show and NBC Nightly News in NYC.
Shin specializes in science and tech communication and has handled public affairs, business development and IT at NASA Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley. She also designed and developed websites for NASA and Stanford and was featured faculty teaching marketing and web apps at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She studied ceramic engineering and science journalism at Northwestern University and did graduate science communication work at UC Santa Cruz.
