Yarmouth Rotary Club member Carolyn Johnson will be heading to Romania in early April to help care for refugees from the war in the Ukraine.   She will be working with the Rotary Club of Oradea, Romania.

Romania has become a key destination for Ukrainians fleeing the fighting from the Russian invasion.  Romanians have been organizing reception camps to provide temporary housing until longer term arrangements can be made.

Carolyn has long experience in education and literacy. She was an elementary school teacher and principal. Joining Rotary in 2002, she has become an internationally recognized leader in Rotary’s effort to improve education and health care around the world.

Carolyn will be working directly with refugees preparing and serving meals, providing basic household needs, and other hands-on services.  She plans to take basic first aid materials and crayons and coloring books for the children.
