Our new President, Iosif Ciosa, gave his introductory speech to the club on July 3.  He expressed his appreciation of becoming the 64th President of the Rotary Club of Toronto Forest Hill and his commitment to working together with club members to continue to do the great work that is the legacy of our club.  Please see the text of Iosif's speech below:

Dear Fellow Rotarians of the Toronto-Forest Hill Club,

It is my great honour and privilege to serve as President for the 2014/2015 year. I am the 64th President of the Rotary Club of Toronto- Forest Hill and looking forward to working together to continue the great work our club has been doing for over 60 years.

Looking back over the 60 plus years that the Club has been in existence, we can be very proud of its achievements of members past and present. As a small club we have made a difference far beyond our size; we can look forward to the future knowing that we will strive hard to maintain the high standard of projects that make a difference to people’s lives here and abroad. We will continue to do so for years to come. We are Rotarians of the Toronto Forest Hill club and we are committed to making a difference … Service above Self.

The spirit of Rotary and the philosophy of “Service above Self” has been the driving force that has brought us all to Rotary; to make a difference in the world.  Rotary has already done much to change the world.  Through thousands of projects serving millions of people around the world,  we have improved so many different aspects of people’s lives, from simply providing clean water or vaccinations to providing money for scholarships. Polio is nearly gone!

In the coming year I am committed to continue and uphold the work that the Rotary Club of Toronto - Forest Hill has been doing for over 60 years. This year’s Strategic Plan focuses on Membership Development, Engagement through Service Projects, Public Relations and Networking and ensures this is all being done in a spirit of fellowship and fun.

I feel privileged to serve as The President of the Rotary Club of Toronto Forest Hill. I look forward to working with our board and members to carry on the work we have done in the past and continue to grow and make a difference. We are a small club with a big heart and bigger ambition; we will “Light up Rotary” as our Rotary International President for 2014/2015 Mr. Gary Huang encouraged every Rotarian to do.
