On May 20th, 2018 Rotarians Dr. Karen Kerry and Dr. Andrew Gessert took part in a fundraiser for Fisher House of Michigan. The event was a charity workout hosted by Wolverine Strength and Conditioning in Ann Arbor. The workout was named after Michael Murphy a soldier killed in action on June 28th 2005. A workout named in Michael’s honor is performed at CrossFit affiliates across the United States on or near Memorial Day. The workout is named “Murph” and consists of a 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats and a final 1 mile run. This workout was one of Murphy’s favorite and he called it “Body Armor.” When the charity workout was over the members of Wolverine Strength and Conditioning and all who participated raised just over $24,000 for Fisher House!
