I came to Ann Arbor for college when I was 18. Like many of us, I quickly fell in love with the town. Twenty nine years later, I couldn’t be happier living, working, and raising a family here in Ann Arbor.
Career
I am a partner in the law firm of Hooper Hathaway, located on Main Street. My practice focuses on the representation of small, local businesses and start-ups. Before joining Hooper Hathaway, I worked at Butzel Long in Ann Arbor, Ropes & Gray in Boston, and as a law clerk for Judge Bruce Selya on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Family
My wife of 19 years, Eva Rosenwald (townie and local actor) and I live on Brooklyn Avenue with our two middle-school children, Henry and Ruby. We live on the same block as Eva’s childhood home. Her parents still live there. My parents moved to Ann Arbor in 2000. They live two doors down the street.
Education
I have earned four degrees from the University of Michigan:
- B.A. in English, with high distinction
- B.M.A. in Vocal Performance, with honors
- M.A. in American History
- J.D., cum laude
While an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, I served as President of the Inter-Cooperative Council, a campus-wide, 500+ member student housing cooperative.
While at the University of Michigan School of Law, I served as Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Law Review.
