4 Way Speech ContestThe 4 Way Speech Contest for Nazareth Area was held on Thursday, February 20th at NAHS.
Ms. Brittany Greene, English Department Chair was the liaison for the students. Four students enrolled to compete with a variety of topics for their speeches including: Transforming Fast Fashion, The Case for NASA, Drop In Study Center and Neglected Communities in America. The students were charged with using the elements of Rotary's Four Way Test to offer a persuasive speech on their topic of choice.
There were three judges, a timekeeper, green room volunteer and teller. Thank you to Rotarians Susan Ellis, Robin Burk, Sanju Choudbury, Lynn Ratzell and Kathy Heller for assisting with the event. NASD Superintendent, Dr. Isabel Resende was in attendance and congratulated all students on their presentations.
The winner of our local contest is junior, Sriman Goli. He will proceed to the regional level in March with his topic Transforming Fast Fashion; a compelling look at the hidden cost of fashion production. The regional contest is Saturday, March 22nd at 10am at Willow Lane Elementary School in Macungie.
