Rotarian Don De Groot delivered a very informative presentation regarding his involvement with recent advocacy related to a proposed change to the 401 west from Mallorytown to Brockville. The Province is studying several options, including expanding this stretch of highway to an interim six lanes and ultimately a full eight lanes. Don and several other citizens are engaged in dialogue with the Provincial Ministry to suggest other modifications that will address road safety issues on this busy stretch of the highway, along with possible cost savings over the longer term, as well. The group present had a good discussion about the project and commended Don and his associates for their commitment to get directly engaged in this infrastructure project.
