Debbie Price, Death Coach/Secret Keeper, of Open Ears 4 U addresses the Rotary Club of Brockville on May 15, 2023.
Debbie firmly believes that “Just as we need loving hands to help us into this world, so too do we need loving hands to help us out of this world.”

Debbie went into some detail explaining what a “death doula” does and how they can help with compassion and understanding supporting the dying and their families. Debbie has hands-on experience with palliative care, retirement/nursing homes, and 5 years’ experience in a domestic violence group; one of her most rewarding undertakings. She is passionate about supporting the dying and their families through the end-of-life journey.

She emphasized the importance of being prepared and passed around a booklet on 87 Decisions and things to do as well as the “Planning Guide” booklet available at funeral homes, about the things that need to be written down for the survivors after the death of a loved one.

She believes in making a peaceful and dignified end-of-life experience, and no one deserves to die alone. Cost depends on the circumstances.  Each is looked at depending on the length of time, how long per day and what else is required.

In conclusion, as a Death Doula, she prepares, coaches, and supports the dying and their families during the end of life process.  She can be contacted at openears4u@gmail.com.
