Prior to the Club meeting Guest Speaker Dave Sheridan catches up with Rotarian Marla Gilliland.
On October 28th, guest speaker Dave Sheridan provided a very interesting overview of his extensive involvement in several Brockville and area community arts sculpture projects. Among those projects are the Con Darling statue, the Womens' Memorial, the VIA Rail Train Station Mural, the Brockville Police sculpture, and the Rotary Old Meg project. Dave shared all aspects involved in the creation of these unique pieces. Most recently, Dave showed the members illustrations of how the Canadian Horse sculpture was casted and installed at Upper Canada Village. During the questions and answers session, it was noted that Dave's Father Robert Sheridan is a past President of the Rotary Club of Brockville, as well as, a past Mayor of the City of Brockville. Extending the thanks of the Club, President Alfred O'Rourke (right) presents Dave (left) with a book that will be donated to the St. John Bosco Elementary School Library to commemorate Dave's presentation.
