Rotary Theme: Basic Education and Literacy Month
Our guest speaker Matteo Favero is an expert in all things bicycles. After he moved to Collegeville from North Carolina ten years ago, he was a guest speaker at a Collegeville Economic Development Corporation Design Committee meeting where he presented his idea to add a bike station at Trailhead parking lot in Collegeville.
Matteo Favero is a husband and father who has lived in Collegeville since 2010. Ursinus College brought him and his family here when his wife was hired to teach biology and neuroscience. He has homeschooled his two daughters since that time until the present. He has continued to teach private piano lessons as well. He earned a Master’s degree in piano performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts graduating in 2003. A bicycling life unexpectedly developed in 2006 when he began volunteering at the Community Bike Shop in Charlottesville, Virginia. Matteo performs on and teaches piano, has worked at Community School in Historic Trappe and at Ursinus College. He can be seen riding his bicycle to work, and all over the community. His wife Carlita Favero is an associate professor of biology at Ursinus College.
