9th Annual Race to ZERO Purple Pinkie Run

9th Annual Race to ZERO Let's End Polio!! Purple Pinkie 5K Run & 1 + Mile Fun Walk/Run in Rotary District 7430 to raise funds to END POLIO.

This year's Race to ZERO is October 12th, 2019 at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville, PA!

Cost: $25 ($15 if under 18) if postmarked by September 20, 2018, $35 ($25 if under 18) after September 20 and on race day. Registration starts at 8:00 AM, Race starts at 9:30 AM, Awards at 10:30 AM. 9 and under no charge.

We know you have a LOT of choices for 5Ks in the Fall. How about running for a terrific cause – the eradication of one of the most crippling diseases of the last one hundred years? WHY “PURPLE PINKIE?” When vaccinating the children in remote parts of the world, the medical team hands out candy. But kids, being smart, started showing up in line multiple times to get more. So the medical folks began to roll the children's pinkie finger in purple ink to identify those who’d been inoculated. Today, we run with “Purple Pinkies” to show our support of the people needing our help to fight this horrible disease.

THE COURSE Address is 4525 Education Park Drive, Schnecksville, PA. We’ve charted a course on the combined campuses of Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) and Lehigh County Technical Institute in Schnecksville, PA. Walkers, families, and pets are welcome!

AWARDS Awards will be presented to the male and female winners and runners up (1st & 2nd places). Also, medals will be presented to top 2 male and 2 female finishers in each of the following age brackets: Under 18, 18-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70+ years.
