Ron Lambert, a volunteer for the Senior Medicare Patrol, PA-SMP, informed Morning Star Rotarians that Protect, Detect and Report are the 3 key words to protect against health care fraud. 
 
Prevent fraud by protecting your Medicare or Medicaid number and always rely on your personal doctor to recommend all medical services and equipment for you. 
 
Keep a personal record of all your health care visits and compare these records to your insurance statements to detect any issues. 
 
Report questions, concerns or complaints against potential fraud and abuse issues. PA-SMP can help. For free confidential assistance call 1-800-356-3606.
 
Our next meeting will be Thursday April 6th at The Artisan Wine & Cheese Cellar at 5:30.  The Artisan is located at 55 West Lehigh Street. 
Please join us for Rotary Means Business and introduce a friend, neighbor or co-worker to Rotary.

Whitehall Area Rotary Club Chartered

A wonderful celebration was held March 28th as our District 7430 held Charter Night with the induction of our newest Rotary Club, Whitehall Area Rotary Club. This is the first new Rotary Club in our District since 2008. There were over 100 people in attendance with 18 different Rotary clubs represented and a whole host of District Governors Past, Present and into the next decade. Morning Star Rotary was well represented in welcoming all the new Rotarians.
 
Special congratulations to District Membership Chair, Herb Klotz, for guiding the evolution of this new club and doubling-down as MC!
 
Among the new clubs members, but unable to be present, is Jan Chicka. Jan is transferring to the Whitehall Rotary Club. Jan will be missed at Morning Star, but we are really happy she will continue to be a Rotarian. 
Jan, thank you for all you have done at Morning Star.
