PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Fellow Rotarians,

It is hard to believe it is already December. We only have three meetings left in 2023 so try during this busy time to join us. This Thursday, bring along a friend who might want to learn more about Rotary and Morning Star to our First Thursday Social/Membership meeting at the Clubhouse Grille at the Bethlehem Golf Club on Illick's Mill Road.  It begins at 5:30 PM as usual and you will purchase your own food and drink. We have a section reserved for our group, so hope to see you there. Remember the following week we are meeting at Seven Sirens (ground floor – Flatiron Building) for our normal weekly live/hybrid meeting.  If you have not signed up for our Holiday Meeting on December 21st at the Advent Moravian Church on Jacksonville Road, please let me know if you will be attending so I can add you to the list.  Also, if you are willing to sponsor breakfast for one of our choral singers, let me know. We are trying to have as accurate an account as possible so we can order food. This meeting will really get us in the mood for the holidays.

Rodney Conn spoke to us at this past week’s meeting regarding the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter and we are encouraging members to sign-up for one or more of our three dates to help with the BES shelter this year. The dates are January 8th, February 13th , and March 14th.  This is such a strong service project and makes such a difference in so many lives of those who, but for this shelter, might be sleeping outside in the weather.

Let us invite some friends to our Social Event and get the great news about what we are all about out there!

MSR "BE THE GOOD" FUND 2.0
Dear Friends and Supporters,

The Women of Action team of Rotary volunteers will be returning to Kenya on our 2nd humanitarian trip January 28th for two weeks. The team will be reviewing the progress of The Rotary Foundation Global Grant at the Ngaremara Dispensary and exploring Phase II options of the project.
As part of this trip we will also be conducting additional service projects including a menstrual health project at the Ngaremara Girls Secondary School. Many of the girls that attend this school live in the area served by the dispensary. This project will begin to create an environment where girls feel supported during their menstrual cycle so they can attend classes and not miss out on their education.  The project will include both distributing sanitary pads and basic education in menstrual hygiene. We hope that you will join us in supporting this project by donating to our Be The Good Fund 2.0.   You may make a tax-deductible donation by clicking here
We are grateful for your interest and support of our work in Kenya. We plan to keep you updated via email on the continuing work of the projects. You may also follow us on Facebook @MorningStarRotary

"STT" CONCERT TICKET MONEY
We would like to give a big MSR thank you to all of our "Salute the Troops" Concert supporters.  The leadership is trying to finish the final finance reports from the concert so that the Board of Directors at its December meeting can determine the amount of this year's grant to Victory House.  A brief reminder to all MSR members....any members who need to submit ticket money should bring it to this week's First Thursday Social (December 7th) or mail a check to our MSR Treasurer, Jean Searfoss at 1409 Bogie Ave., Allentown, PA 18106.  Our hope is that all members will pay for their ticket allotment so that our annual grant to support Victory House can be as generous as possible.
