A late winter event last week resulted in our Morning Star Weather Policy coming into play as the BASD closed schools on Wednesday and Thursday. Result – no meeting on Thursday morning. Our scheduled program of Lehigh University students speaking on the Fulbright Scholar Program will hopefully find another spot on the schedule in the not too distant future.
Thursday evening we prepared our final MSR Dinner at Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering at the Church of the Nativity. These MSR events take place one Thursday evening a month from December through March. We had over 30 clients participating who enjoyed a fine dinner guided by our own “Chef” John Oesmann. Thank you to all who supported the event. We will continue this project in December. So please make a note to participate.
The Rotary Foundation Centennial Gala celebration was held March 11th at Pine Crest Country Club. Foundation Chair, PDG Doug Cook, and his foundation team conducted a wonderful event. In celebration of The Rotary Foundation’s 100th Anniversary some 140 Rotarians and friends were treated to DG David Forward as keynote speaker talking on his book commissioned by RI on the history of the Foundation. Additionally, two very special Rotarians were acknowledged as having become Arch Klumph Society Members. Morning Star was well represented. Thank you to all who helped make this a historic occasion.
