Here’s a short update on the work being done on LVCC’s Fowler Center playground, which is being funded in part by the Rotary Club of Bethlehem Morning Star and the Laros Foundation. LVCC’s Development Department will send out a more complete progress report at a later time. The playground construction is ongoing. The photos show our progress, which you may use in Rotary publications. The row of wooden boxes are for planting. They contain coarse gravel over a water-permeable base, and soil will be added later. The shallow boxes are for playing with small toys and sensory play (like sand, water, pebbles, etc.). There is still some synthetic turf to be installed. At the back of the playground (an area not photographed), we’ll add an area for outdoor eating and projects. We will also add a stage for dramatic play and presentations such as Lehigh Valley Zoo or science programs.
