President Baker Update
I’m so sorry I was unable to be with all of you Thursday evening, but thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I continue to recover more daily, and will be much better Wednesday once I’ve had a chance for my post-op visit; the doctor will remove a drain I’ve been tethered to and I won’t have need for painkillers after that.

Given that progress, I’m looking forward to seeing the board on Wednesday night for our board meeting! I will try and make the meeting the next morning, also. No guarantees, but that’s my hope.

I’m also going to try and make the Salute The Troops concert next Sunday.

Looks like everyone had a great time Saturday at TJ-wish I could have been there, but you were in Jess’ capable hands! Thank you all for your commitment.

We all continue to wish Cheryl a timely and safe recovery and look forward to her return.

First Thursday With DG Rick Gromis

District Governor, Rick Gromis, made his official visit to Morning Star last Thursday.
Acknowledging the ever changing needs of Rotary, DG Gromis took the initiative to come to the Artisan and engage with nearly two dozen rotarians and friends.

DG Gromis had previously sent a video email to all MSR members presenting his thoughts, goals and objectives for this Rotary year. In addition he explained how the District is there to help support our Rotary efforts. If you missed this or want to see it again, https://youtu.be/3AdeuLha0VY.

DG Rick inducted our two newest members, Kathleen Sullivan and Carl Kolepp. We also had three new applications submitted at this meeting.
Thanks to all who attended as this was a special opportunity to interact with our DG in an environment of fellowship.

MSR SPONSOR SCHOOL THOMAS JEFFERSON
Morning Star Rotary is hard at work!
Saturday, we were helping the Bethlehem community, along with students, family and staff of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School to clean up the yard and playground.
The value of our efforts can be seen in the many smiles as we kick-off our sponsorship with TJE!

Special thanks to Shawn Deiter for the pics!

PURPLE PINKIE GRAND SLAM!
The results of the District 7430 sponsored Purple Pinkie Run raised over $30,000!

This will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation at a 2:1 rate.

Bottomline, the event will have raised over $90,000 for polio eradication! This is leverage at its finest.

Special thanks to all of our members and friends of Rotary who participated by making
