If the Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) CLOSES schools, then the Morning Star Rotary meeting will be held ZOOM only, not In-person.

If BASD just DELAYS school opening, our meeting will be HELD AS USUAL (Zoom & In-person), unless notification e-mailed for a Zoom format for all.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Fellow Morning Star Rotarians,

Winter has a lot of gloomy days. What better way to brighten up a wintery evening than joining us this Thursday at 5:30 PM at the Artisan Wine & Cheese Cellar at 55 W. Lehigh St. in Bethlehem. Consider inviting a neighbor or a fellow co-worker who might want to learn more about Rotary and the service and fellowship opportunities Morning Star Rotary offers. Remember, if you bring a guest who is a potential member, the Club will cover the cost.

If you join us this Thursday or are unable, be certain to mark your calendars for February 8th, either in person or via Zoom, to be a part of our club meeting with our “People of Action” team currently in Kenya. We will hear about their trip and take a tour of the school to see the work that has been accomplished. Technology opens up so many opportunities for us to reach around the world, so join us to be a part of sharing the action of this service project that is making a difference in the lives of the children at this school.

Foundation Chair Tom Hartzell presents PHF pin

At our January 25th club meeting, Tom Hartzell, MSR Foundation Chair, presented an overview of our club and district Foundation giving and Foundation funded projects for the past and current Rotary year. KIVUTINI SCHOOL GRANT PROJECT

Our Morning Star Rotary “People of Action” team is currently on location in Kenya inspecting our Kivutini School grant project in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Machakos. The team reports that "The smiles and energy of the students is priceless!"

BETHLEHEM EMERGENCY SHELTERING

Morning Star Rotary will be working at the Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering on three evenings during the coming winter months. If you are able to assist with this important project, please contact Ginny Wolkoff at ginny4wolkoff@gmail.com for available dates. We will need servers, dish washers, and people to monitor the showers. The Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering is located at Christ Church UCC at 75 E Market Street, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18018

This week at the Rotary International Assembly in Orlando, Florida, Rotary International President-Elect Stephanie Urchick announced her theme for the 2024-25 Rotary year: THE MAGIC OF ROTARY.
