PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Morning Star Members,

As we head through this Fall, we have embraced some great events and some heart-breaking challenges. We are people of action, but also people of compassion. We are always there for each other and the commitments we’ve made to make a difference in our community and the World.

We all have busy lives and need to find our opportunity to be a co-chair of a project or event, a volunteer of a project or event, or coming up with a new idea where we can make a difference. When we all pitch in even the simplest project can enhance our Rotary experience and those to whom we are reaching out to and touching their lives with hope! The more each of you get involved makes certain our projects and events will continue into the future.

As we prepare for our upcoming Salute the Troops Concert on November 12th, we could use everyone’s support. You should all have received your tickets to sell and hopefully if you have a Sponsor Ad, or a Patron or In Honor Of Contract, you will get them to either Eileen Dunn or myself as soon as possible. I will pass around a sign-up sheet this Thursday to get volunteers for this major Club event.

Also, mark your calendars for upcoming events. We have our First Thursday Social Event at the Artisan on November 2nd, where you can bring friends or co-workers to learn more about Rotary and what we do as a Club. November 16th District Governor, Diane Donaher, will join us for our New Member Induction. We will also have Connor Moriarty speaking on November 16th abou0t Resetting Outdoors. Lastly, December 21st is our Holiday Meeting at the Moravian Advent Church on Jacksonville Road, where we will hear the Liberty HS A Cappella Group.

Let’s keep our enthusiasm strong, remembering Service Above Self!

Thanks!
Betty Isaacs

ROTAPLAST FUNDRAISER

This past Saturday evening, October 21st, the District 7430 Rotaplast fundraiser was held at Pennsylvania Playhouse.  Attendees were treated to a fabulous performance of Sondheim's  "Sweeney Todd" and enjoyed delicious food, drink, and fellowship.  A basket raffle, 50/50, and a quilt auction all benefited the fantastic work of our district Rotaplast team.  Morning Star Rotary was proud to be a club sponsor for this event.  A big shoutout and kudos to MSR Rotarian Susan Burnett for all her work on this benefit on behalf of Rotaplast..."What an incredibly amazing evening D7430 Rotaplast had last night at the Pennsylvania Playhouse with “Sweeney Todd”! The thesaurus is not up to the task of describing the evening. The show was phenomenal! Right down to that last second! Darah Donaher (director) and her entire cast and crew should tour! Thank you to all who came out and supported the event. Thank you to the Rotary Clubs and local merchants who sponsored and donated items. All raffle prizes were loved and appreciated. The Clubhouse Grille once again provided amazing food! The talk back with the actors, as with last year, was an enormous hit! Wish we could see it again!!"

"SAVING SMILES. CHANGING LIVES."
PA REP. SAMUELSON SPEAKS TO MSR

What an honor to have our friend Rep. Steve Samuelson of the 135th district be our guest speaker at our October 19, 2023 club meeting! His recent legislation signed by Gov. Shapiro will help vulnerable residents, such as seniors, through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program by increasing income limits and providing larger rebates for those who qualify.
