SEP 14, 2023 PROGRAM EDUCATING SPECIAL NEEDS

Mrs. Andrea Richards Tonge, Principal of the Adele School for Special Children, and Ms. Dianne Joseph - Teacher Kindergarten/Beginners Class presented a very impassioned story on "Educating Special Needs Children in Antigua and Barbuda." The school teaches about 60 students per year with an age range from 5 years to 21 years of age. These are all special needs children, primarily affected with autism. The focus is on teaching real life skills.  Emphasis is directed to the pace of each student as you can only imagine the challenges of working with such a broad range of ages. For a pdf version of their presentation click Adele School Antigua & Barbuda. (or select the Download File on MSR website www.MorningStarRotary.org.)

Sep 7, 2023 GLOBAL GRANT IN ACTION!
Our Morning Star Global Grant partner, the Rotary Club of Isiolo, Kenya was just featured on local TV. The Club was responsible for distribution a huge ( ~$500,000) RI Emergency Grant for famine relief. The report is in Swahili, but project manager Gilbert Mato speaks English. (Gilbert is also the project manager for our Global Grant.) Skip the ads after the first 5 seconds.

Thanks to Donna Holton for the update!
