Urgent - Need District Grant Ideas for 2013-14

Applications for District grants for the 2013-14 Rotary year are now being accepted.  The Club Foundation Committee is seeking ideas on projects for which we can apply for these funds.  District Grants fund relatively short-term activities in amounts less than $3,000.  Our club is waiting to receive funds for the current Rotary year to assist Hogar Crea in creating a garden area.  Past projects have included acquisition of a bicycle rack for Victory House and purchasing books for Cops ’N Kids. 

The grant project must be in one of the following areas of focus:

·        Peace and conflict resolution

·       Disease prevention and treatment

·       Water and sanitation

·       Maternal & child health

·       Basic education & literacy

·       Economic & community development

Due to changes in the grant process being implemented by Rotary International for the 2013-14 year, club applications are due to the District by the end of March.  The Foundation Committee would like to make a recommendation to the Club Board by its March 13 meeting.
