The program will not go away. Social Security has always paid its own way.
Medicare has done a great job of increasing longevity. The immediate impact was +10 years reflecting the positive results of medical care becoming available to seniors.
Mark strongly recommends that everyone set up their own social security account which protects from someone else stealing your identity.
Also a reminder, neither the Social Security Administration or the IRS will call you 'out of the blue' requesting information.
