MSR Rotarians:
For those present for PDG Herb Klotz’s talk on strategic planning, you all know that has become more of a focus for Rotary. The board will be gathering on April 12th to begin our own strategic planning for the next three years. As you can imagine, clubs do not have the bandwidth to concentrate on all seven areas of focus in Rotary. Part of this exercise is to give better definition to the things that Bethlehem Morning Star Rotary does in the areas of service and our grant activities. From here, we can better articulate our mission and strategy to the community, and we can focus on the kinds of fundraising activities to support our work.
If you have any thoughts on things that we are doing well, or on things you might like to see happen, please reach out to anyone on the board. Successful strategic planning requires regular review and modifications as needed. An idea you plant now may germinate into a larger club goal in the future.
To better implement this sort of plans, it will be necessary to add back the office of vice president in our club. I realize that this was a difficult position to fill in the past, but if we are to truly have influence, we need more long-range goals that can only be accomplished through strong succession planning. This will require a change to our by-laws, but you will hear more on this later.
