The Lehigh Valley Arts Council (LVAC) is the central voice for the arts, ensuring that their value and impact are a key part of the region’s focus on growth, enrichment, and quality of life. Through community partnership, it continues to support our local arts community through arts advocacy, research, professional development seminars, and cooperative marketing initiatives.
Randall Forte, the Executive Director for the LVAC, joined us last Thursday to speak about how they are implementing a yearlong celebration commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Americans for Disabilities Act through the lens of the arts. The celebration will encompass 50 different events including more than 25 performances, exhibitions, film screenings, and lectures that local cultural groups have programmed to intentionally reach people with disabilities and their families and friends.
Visit ArtsandAccess.org to discover a comprehensive upcoming calendar of disability-friendly cultural events. There is also a resource guide to local, state and national organizations. Per Randall, “help us spread the word and open the door to greater inclusion in the Lehigh Valley.”

The 9th Annual Janet A. Sipple Lectureship, “Homeless and Hungry: Community, Nursing, and Health Care’s Influence” is on Wednesday, October 21st 5:30 pm at Foy Hall, Moravian College Hurd (South) Campus followed by MSR fellowship at The Brick. There is reserved seating for Morning Star Rotarians. Hope to see you there.
DISTRICT 7430 NEEDS YOU. One of the best ways to become engaged in Rotary in our District is to attend The Rotary Leadership Institute, or RLI. Those who have attended past sessions have come back enthusiastic and more knowledgeable about Rotary. RLI for our District 7430 is Saturday, November 7th in King of Prussia.
