Why Should I Care About Medicare? A key question addressed by our speaker team of Dan Banks, President and Founder of Silver Crest Insurance and Ramona Harris, an independent agent at Silver Crest.

Following 16 years of diversified experience in the insurance and financial services industries, Dan founded Silver Crest. He decided to specialize in Medicare insurance when a client asked him to review his Medicare options. After researching the topic, it became quite clear how difficult it is for people to navigate the complexities of the Medicare system and the supplemental coverage options involved.

To answer the question, healthcare is the second largest expense you will have in retirement so having the right health coverage is extremely important.

Following a brief history of Medicare, Dan provided an overview and a discussion on what is and what is not covered.  The confusion and complexity becomes apparent when you investigate these items as well as enrollment options, the importance of enrollment dates and become knowledgeable of the many loopholes which exist.  Most loopholes are not designed to favor the individual but the government.  Sound familiar? Conclusion – do your homework and reach out to the resources available to you.

We received a Thank You from the folks at ShelterBox for the donation we sent. They provided a SB#: 25039 so we can track its deployment. The Box is currently being packed and strategically positioned. Will monitor progress and keep you up to date. The rate at which boxes are deployed is directly related to the frequency and scale of disasters occurring around the world.  Here’s hoping it stays in inventory for a while!
