Happy Birthday America!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The USA Women’s World Cup victory may not have been a “gift to the world” but it was a great present to the USA!
Our Rotary year began with an enlightening presentation by Ashley Cordero, St. Luke’s nursing student in the accelerated curriculum. Ashley spoke about the MaMa Program Mission she participated in Honduras during March.

The objectives of the Mission are to focus on the medical, dental and construction needs of families serviced by The Nutrition Center in Honduras. They spend time working with mothers and children to educate them on improving their cooking methods in their own village environments to provide healthier results from materials available to them. The Program provides nutritional supplements to the families to help offset nutritional challenges. Every effort is made to follow-up with the families at least every 90 days to reinforce the learning. Like many underdeveloped areas around the world, safe water is an ever present issue.
The MaMa Program is a non-profit organization funded primarily through support by the Moravian College and community donations. Its success has been further evident by the development of a Nutrition Center on the island of Haiti. Given the need, there appears to be a partnership and/or global grant opportunity in search of support.
Among the visitors and guests there were two special Visiting Rotarians, Karen and PDG Bill Jahn. Karen is now a Rotarian and Bill is President RC Skidaway Isle, GA. Great to see them and welcome them home for a too short visit. Our other visitors were Dr. Pamela Adamshick from Moravian College, guest of Dr. Janet Sipple and Barry Gates, guest of Steve Bajan.
Please join us this Thursday when we will have at least three of our Camp Neidig scholarship campers to tell us of their experiences at camp. I am anxious to hear if their reality lived up to their expectations. Participation this year was at an all-time high!

Reminder to our Officers and Directors: Board Meeting this Wednesday, July 8 at 6:00 PM at Moravian Village.
Please “Be a Gift to the World”,
President Ron
