We closed out the month of January on the 28th with a special celebration. We said ‘Thank You’ as we acknowledged the dozens of sponsors who supported our 25th Anniversary 5K/10K Race.

The celebration was capped off by Race Director Wayne Achey presenting a check for our $8,000 donation to the Bethlehem Special OlympicsLouise Tusak graciously accepted the donation on behalf of Bethlehem Special Olympics.

Bethlehem Special Olympics has been the prime beneficiary of the Morning Star 5K/10K Run since the early years of the club.  We are proud to have raised over $120,000 for Special Olympics.

Our friends at Essroc Italcementi Group once again had a large contingent – this time of about 200 participants. Essroc considers the Event an integral part of their corporate wellness program! They have thrown down the challenge to any other organizations to do likewise and try to match their participation.

A thank you is in order for our Race Director, Wayne Achey and Assistant Race Director, Jeff Kicska.  Feedback from runners and participants was exceptionally positive reflecting how well the Race was run. A very special thank you to all the Race Committee members and all the Morning Star Rotarians and Family and Friends for all their work and support over the months and the day of the event to ensure another successful Race.
