Pres. Sue's May 1 Message
Week of May 2nd and May 8th
Greetings Rotarians!
You might not like the methods, but you gotta love the results! I think I counted 35 Rotarians at the meeting last week!
This week’s email is going to count for 2 weeks since I am on hiatus this week and will be buried in dirty laundry and over-due school work at the beginning of following week.
I am very sorry to be missing Retief, our Exchange Student. He has been very busy since his arrival and has an exciting summer planned. We were hoping to take him camping over the 4th of July weekend but he is off on a big adventure which I am sure he will tell you all about.
May 9th we will hear from Dr. Janet Westlund who is expert on new hearing loss technologies. I think there is a pun in there some place.
The FOLLOWING week we are going on Field Trip! So stay tuned for more info on that – or check out the calendar on the website.
There are lots of exciting things going on in our club over the next couple of months.
Please consider coming out to help on planting day at Hogar Crea on May 18th. Consider it a warm up/practice/gardener in training session for when we get our NEXT District Grant which is to help refurbish part of the Bike Path along the river!
And there is still time to sign up for the District Assembly which is May 11th at DeSales. Application is on the District 7430 website.
RI dues are going up!
$1/year/member starting in 2014/2015. Apparently they have been increasing $1/year/person for the past year. We now pay $53/person to RI. This was just voted on last week.
Here is the link to the RI website: http://www.rotary.org/en/Members/PoliciesAndProcedures/Announcements/Pages/130423_annc_COL.aspx
At the next Board meeting we will try to figure out if we can absorb these costs.
Have a good one.
Sincerely,
Susan
