Greetings Rotarians!

I held my breath all morning yesterday until the sun broke through just before noon. I don’t have all the details but I heard the Golf Tournament went off with aplomb and I am sure Butch will catch us upon Thursday and regale us with stories. Maybe we will have some photos for NEXT week’s newsletter.

TONIGHT is the New Member Soiree at the Hanoverville Road House, another great annual Morning Star event. I know that when I was a new Rotarian, this was the moment when I really got to know some Rotarians really well and started to make some friends and feel like knew some folks, and they got to know me and my husband.

The Kilt!

Now has a permanent home on our website. There is a link on the web that takes you to the District website to whatever issue is most current. They just published the newest edition and there is a really cool story in there about a certain club. I just hope that our new and illustrious (I am really wearing out Dictionary.com this morning) governor, Frank Romano, keeps the District newsletter going, otherwise, this will be a short link.

Better late than never…

Ok, I owe Bill Jahn an apology. I was supposed to write about this a few weeks ago and I kept forgetting and now the deadline may be past or they may already have a candidate but you never know so here goes nothing. The Rotary Foundation sponsors scholarship program called UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education. The scholarship is paid for from the Foundation. Three programs are available: Water and Sanitation, Water Management and Water Science and Engineering. The District can send a student from Lehigh University, thru the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering but the deadline to apply is July 15th (0h, I thought it was June 15th, I am not so late).

Here is the best part – our club can sponsor a student AT NO COST TO US!!!!! It is covered thru the Packaged Grant program.

So if you know of any college students that might be interested, please contact me, I have a little more info but probably I will refer you to Bill Jahn or the District.

Reminders

District Changeover Dinner – June 14th

Meeting moved to Moravian Village – June 20th

Kickout Dinner – June – 27th

We are still looking for folks to champion the Raffle and food for the 5K/10K race. If you are interested, please speak to Susan and Jeff respectfully.

This week’s speakers:

Lynn Cunningham and Kasara McLaughlin from the Downtown Bethlehem Association

Next week’s speakers:

Bill Andress and Tom Kocsis from the Nancy Run Fire Company

And last, but not least, you should have, by now, received your dues notice from Val. Please get them in to Sue Reeps as soon as possible as our fees are due to the District and RI and the majority of your dues go to cover those fees.

See you Thursday!

BTW, Attendance has been AWESOME!!!!!!!

Cheers,

Susan
