Pres. Sue's Dec. 11 Message
Last week’s attendance was 33, right where we need it.
Happy Hanukkah Rotarians!
I have a confession to make … I was not ready to write this week’s message. I usually get some inspiration during the week. From the last meeting. From something someone said. Or something I read in the monthly magazine, or something that happened to me over the weekend. But this weekend was a bit of a blur. No, not because I was drinking heavily. (Although that would have been nice.) My parents arrive this weekend, and between the play and trying to remove 6 months of dog hair from house and finish Xmas shopping and get the cat to the vet … well, you know how life goes. So now it’s Monday morning and I am at work and I am supposed to be, well working … so I better think fast …
Where DO you go when you want to get inspired about Rotary? Well, duh, Rotary of course. I remembered I wanted to show this at our meeting but we never could get the internet to work
Have you seen this video? Its fantastic and even better, YOU CAN BE IN IT!!! Check it out! (Even if you have already see it, it’s worth a second look. It’s that good!)
We are just THIS CLOSE to ending Polio NOW! http://thisclose.endpolio.org/en
Russ, thank you very much for such a magnificent talk last week! When I got into work and my co-workers asked me how Rotary was, I said, “It was GREAT! This guy told the story of his life through the Christmas cards he designed! It was completely unique and so lovely. And they gave me these funny looks and so I just said “Hey, if you want to know how great Rotary is, you have to COME TO ROTARY! It’s as simple as that.”
This week we have our regular meeting but NEXT week we are downstairs for a wonderful buffet and great Liberty singers. Please sign up if you are able to sponsor one of them. The last week of December we do NOT have a meeting but we WILL have a great Holiday party at the Longs on Friday evening!
Cheers, Susan
