Lieto fine di villeggiatura estiva!

I would like to thank Dee for a wonderful re-classification talk last week. There is much more to New Bethany Ministries than I ever realized. We would love to hear more re-classification talks so if you are interested in participating, let Deb know.

If you were not here a couple of weeks ago, we officially welcomed 4 new members to the club, Karen Jahn, Sue Reeps, Janet Kolepp and Ed Ortelli. We just welcomed Wayne Achey a couple of weeks ago and in a few weeks, we will hopefully welcome one more new member. That is a lot of new faces to say “Good Morning” to so don’t be shy. I hope that the Membership Committee is planning on one of those chair raffles again. That is a great way to meet new people.

Interact

As you may have heard at the last meeting, my daughter Abby is starting 9th grade at Freedom in a couple of weeks and she is very excited to start an Interact Club. As it turns out, Bill Jahn’s grandson, Matthew, also attends Freedom and while he many not know it yet, he too is very excited about this prospect. At this point, we are on a fact finding mission, to determine the feasibility of starting a club. We need to find out how to do it and what resources the club would need to provide and if we are able to provide them. At the same time, we need to find a teacher at Freedom who is willing to champion the cause. If anyone else in the club is interested in helping us investigate this opportunity, please let me know. I am sure we can use all the help we can get.

Homework

I have a great favor to ask all of the Committee Chairs. On our website, in the top left margin, we have a section that describes our Club. There are several pages that were set up last winter. I would love to have a page that describes the Committees. This is the area of the website that potential members will look at to learn more about our club and what makes us unique and special.

I am asking that each Committee Chair write one or two paragraphs about their committee, that describes what your committee does. You do not have to give all the nuts and bolts but you can if you wish. Maybe a little history, maybe a statement of what you hope to accomplish this year, maybe what you have done in the past. Maybe include some of the challenges you hope to overcome so someone looking to join the club can see how their expertise can fit in with the needs of the club.

The purpose of this page is to let folks know a little bit about how everyone in our club works together to accomplish our goals and have fun at the same time.

If you could get these to me by the end of the first week of September, I would be very grateful. I will make sure they get posted. If every committee head does just the one for their committee, it will take each person maybe 10-15 mintues max but if one person has to write them all, it would take a really long time (and they might miss some really important information!)

Thanks so much for your help with this!

Have a great week,
Sincerely, Susan
