Oct. 21 Message – MORNING STAR IS ENGAGING ROTARY!
Oct. 21 Message – MORNING STAR IS ENGAGING ROTARY!
Last Thursday we talked about how well our club is progressing towards annual goals, and heard updates from each committee. Morning Star Rotary is growing, and almost half of our 57 members serve on the Board and/or as a committee chair or co-chair. Plus, over 80% helped with the 5K / 10K by planning, volunteering on race day, stuffing bags or donating to the event!
Four members have sponsored new members so far, and six attended Rotary Leadership Institute. November is Rotary Foundation Month, so we’ll hold off on review of those goals until afterwards.
Morning Star’s finances are strong, and reports are available in “Club Documents” on the website (after you log in). The Board has reallocated $700 originally budgeted for Youth Exchange to the Dictionary Project (see separate story), since Retief had to leave early and we did not receive a student in September.
Secretary Val Walk asks that your meeting make-ups be emailed to val@btcu.org – she’s not always aware when committees have met or who was there.
Thanks to all the committee leaders who brought us up to speed on activities to date and future plans. Monthly Board Minutes contain much info, and are posted in Club documents after approval. If you have any corrections/changes to the committee members “snapshot” distributed last week, would you please email me?
