Oct. 14 Message – MARVELOUS MARIANNE!
All who attended last Thursday’s meeting now understand how diverse and interesting our member and Assistant Governor (AG) Marianne Aronson is! I felt tired just hearing about all the places she has lived and worked, and all her activities … sure leaves VERY little time for TV. I am so happy that she fits Morning Star Rotary into her retirement schedule! Marianne is Past President of her former club in NJ, and she is in her 3rd year as AG in District 7430. For the first 2 years she covered 5 clubs in Berks County, often traveling busy, narrow Rte. 222 and back roads in the dark before breakfast meetings and after dinner meetings. Fortunately for us, she now works with Bethlehem, Morning Star, Nazareth and Easton. Marianne, thanks so much for sharing your wonderful photos and stories, and even more for your dedication to Rotary!
DICTIONARY PROJECT
On Tuesday we will help Bethlehem Rotary stamp and box the books for delivery to the schools. Then later in October and into November we’ll do the same for some additional locations, as well as participate in handing both sets out to the 3rd graders in many schools. If you’d like to help but haven’t yet signed up at a meeting, please contact chair Ellen Roberts editor@wherebooksbegin.com . Our thanks to Deb Storm, Bethlehem Rotary and Ellen as we initiate Morning Star’s participation in this very meaningful project. On Nov. 7 our speaker will address the value of dictionaries in this digital age, and we plan to share the project experience with the club at another meeting after all has been completed.

SAUCON ROTARY ROAD RALLY THIS SUNDAY OCT. 20
A fun drive through scenic countryside with stops including local wineries. This fundraiser costs $35 per person for driver and co-pilot, $10 for passengers. Please contact me for the event flyer.

Past President Dave Cincera had so much fun at our changeover meeting that he plans to visit soon, and even contemplates rejoining. Tim Brion continues to be very busy, and hopes to visit us in the spring or summer.

Morning Star “FUN FACT”
With a Rotary Foundation Matching Grant, we helped establish a Village Bank in Peru. This project involved micro-loans, enabling women to support their families with home-based businesses. (1994-95)
