Dream Come True is an organization founded in 1984 by local entrepreneur Kostas Kalogeropoulos. 
  
The all volunteer organization seeks to fulfill the dreams of children who are seriously, chronically or terminally ill and reside in the greater Lehigh Valley. Rayann Vasko took time from her busy schedule to tell us about Dream Come True. From the humble beginnings of helping one child, DCT now raises $250,000 to $500,000 per year to provide dreams to nearly 40 children ages 4 – 17.  They have been able to implement a scholarship program to 25 children.  This is accomplished through the help of many charities and volunteers. 
 
The major fundraising effort is through the Dream Come True Restaurant of the Month Calendar program.  Patrons buy a calendar and visit the restaurant of the month where they can enjoy a BOGO entrée experience while supporting Dream Come True. As Rayann said, “we are always looking for kind-hearted folks.”  
 
Please save the date:  The Annual Joint Thanksgiving Luncheon hosted by the Bethlehem Downtown Rotary will be held on Wednesday, November 18th at noon right here at Moravian Village. Sharon Zondag from the Laros Foundation will speak, and we will be joined by Rotarians from neighboring clubs.  Please see the separate story below for more details.  We hope you will be able to join us for this annual event that helps us kick off the Holiday Season.
 
The Rotary Leadership Institute for our District 7430 is this Saturday, November 7th in King of Prussia. 
This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Rotary. With five members currently registered, Morning Star will be well represented.
 
We kick off Rotary Foundation Month this Thursday when Past District Governor Frank Romano will be here to educate us with an actual Grant Development Project. Please join us.
