We took on a new project challenge at our club - #HolidayHopeChests.
Many thanks to everyone that contributed toward this year’s Holiday Hope Chests. Our first year attempting this project was a smashing success. Rotary Club of Bethlehem Morning Star pledged to donate 45 gifts. We not only met, but exceeded our goal by 53 percent and donated 69 boxes filled with holiday cheer. Along with 19 members of Rotary, 9 non-members additionally participated.
The gifts were distributed to children across the Lehigh Valley thanks to the hard work of the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley.
I appreciate the help from all participants. Thank you for all the donations of gifts, shoeboxes and gift wrap. A special thank you to Tom and Landa Mohr for wrapping over 30 shoeboxes in record time! I lost count. And another special thank you to John Oesmann and Stan Vasiliadis for opening their homes as storage for the Holiday Hope Chests, as well as being pickup/drop off volunteers. My husband thanks you as well; the boxes were taking over our living room. Happy holidays to all!
