Santa & Ms Claus lent their support to the Whitehall Rotary Club 2nd Annual Jingle Bell Run on December 1st.
After what we heard at the Jingle Bell run, from knowledgeable 'run organizers', MSR’s Celtic Classic 5K did fantastic!
Reports indicated nearly all runs around the Lehigh Valley were down 50% or more from the prior year
We eliminated the 10K this year, and so would expect registrations to decline from 2017.
The committee spent about $90 promoting our event at other races via Pretzel City (TK’s company printed the materials for free, thank you!), and paid $90 for Facebook ads.
Overall our race registration income was down a little, but by less than 6%. Compared with participation in other races this fall being down 40-50% (per Emmaus Run In, via people at the Jingle Bell run), that’s a major success!
We wish to extend a hearty well done to our MSR race committee for a fine effort and exceptional when viewed in light of the other event experiences in the Valley this year.
