May 12 – Mother’s Day and More!
May 12 – Wishing a belated Happy Mother’s Day to all our Moms, Step-Moms, Grandmas, Exchange Host Moms, and all who have been like a Mom to someone special!
I hope all our members enjoyed a wonderful day with those you love, electronically if not in person. Though my Mother passed away years ago, I am still blessed every day for having had her as my Mom.
What a great week we had! Painting at the Canal Lock project was completed on Tuesday by Ron Helmuth, Iryna Levytska and Ron Searfoss. On Thursday, Jan Chicka presented her very interesting Classification Talk, and we heard from the Boys & Girls Club – one of two beneficiaries of the Steve Godbolt Scholarship Fund being endowed with funds from this year’s joint Golf Tournament. Then on Friday a tremendous volunteer effort of members, family, friends and Victory House folks served about 250 spaghetti dinners! (Photos in coming weeks.)

Morning Star “FUN FACT”
With the centennial of Rotary International, we linked up with Bethlehem Rotary for a Centennial Banquet at Moravian College, and completed the two-year $100,000 funding of the St. Luke’s Dental Clinic in the old Union Station Railroad Depot on the South Side of Bethlehem (2004-05)
QUOTE of the Week
“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”
– Albert Einstein. (To that, let’s add women, please!)
I hope to see you this Thursday.
Yours in Rotary,
Jean
