JAN 19 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
President’s Message for January 22, 2015
Most times, being a Rotarian is a great experience, but sometimes Rotary feels like riding a sine wave – up and down and back up again. This month has been a bit like that. On January 8, we had an outstanding speaker who engaged the entire club and got into our “bell ringing” spirit – a definite “up”. On the 14th, we had an excellent Board meeting. Later that night, Ron Searfoss texts me some untimely bad news: “tomorrow’s speaker has cancelled.” Definitely a low point!
Luckily, our club is very resilient and creative, so a fine program materialized to accompany our great fellowship on January 15.
- Tom Mohr hosted our monthly birthday celebration and even called his name this time around. (Fossil of the month! Ed.)
- Then, Ron Searfoss provided a tutorial on the Morning Star Rotary website and District 7430 website. They are both based on the Rotary International endorsed “Club Runner” format and contain a pile of good Rotary info.
- To get at the public information on both sites, you just surf over to www.morningstarrotary.org or to www.rotarydistrict7430.org. No log in required. We encourage every MSR’ian to visit the MSR website at least once per week for all the Club news.
- If you want to change your profile or use any of the administrative functions, you need your Morning Star login – which you all have memorized. But, if you forgot, go to the bottom of home page 'Logging In'. If further questions, then contact Ron S. for a refresher.
By the time I left last week’s meeting, I felt good about our Rotary time together. On my drive to work, I was already looking forward to this week’s Race Sponsor Recognition program and awarding of our charitable contribution to Bethlehem Special Olympics. Come join us to celebrate our successful race and to say thanks to those who gave sponsorship help to our 5K / 10K event.
