HOGAR CREA GARDEN PLANTING

HOGAR CREA GARDEN PLANTING

On behalf of Hogar Crea, I want to thank Morning Star Rotary for their gift of $89 to purchase plants for the garden we planted this year.

On Thursday evening, May 15, several of the companions from Hogar, plus several on the Steering Committee, plus our own Iryna Levytska and Russ Pacala, assembled to plant the garden. Within an hour, all 5 beds were planted with tomatoes, peppers, onions, watermelon, cilantro, basil, and radishes.

Several of those in attendance had never before in their lives planted anything in a garden. Andre, one of the Hogar companions, on the other hand, grew up on a 22-acre truck farm in New Jersey. He seized the opportunity. With him in charge, the garden is in good hands.
