GETTING INTO THE SPIRIT!

Thanks to Morning Star bell-ringers at Christkindlmarkt on Saturday, the Salvation Army can help more families this holiday season! Fortunately Friday’s rainstorm had moved on and a sprinkling of snow added to the festive atmosphere. Next Saturday, (Dec 14), we’ll be ringing in front of the Moravian Bookshop on Main Street – so if you’re downtown please stop by!

The Membership Committee’s first quarterly “Welcome Meeting” last Wednesday was a rousing success at The Mint.  (Best use of a bank building I’ve seen in a long time! Ed.) So many new, prospective and veteran members came that we had to move to a bigger table. Thanks to Rick Santee, Jessica Elliott and the committee for providing a nice casual, unhurried opportunity for fellowship and sharing Rotary information!

NEWEST MEMBER - Please join me in giving our newest member, Melinda Hoffner, a warm Morning Star welcome. Tom Mohr (her sponsor) had the honor of inducting her. Melinda is a Vice President of Commercial Lending at Merchants Bank of Bangor in their new Bethlehem office. She resides in Nazareth with her husband, Chris.

Please remember that Dec. 31 is the district’s cutoff registration date for the $50 discounted price to the District Conference on May 2-4, 2014 at Bushkill Falls.
