The Healthy Rotarian - #2 FEET  (This is a catch-up and given the subject, quite appropriate!)

FEET - the most neglected part of the body. Unless you are a diabetic no one dies of “sick feet”.  A person who began walking at one year old, lives to be 80 years old, engages in moderate physical activity over a life time will take 211,262,500 steps in their life. Usually we ignore basic care of feet unless they hurt.  Right?  So, scrub your feet daily with a soft-medium firm brush (stimulates circulation and reduces bacteria from sweaty feet).  Towel and air dry feet and use a hair dryer to dry toenails (to prevent fungus growth in toenails.  Take your shoes off soon as you can to air feet from a sweaty shoe work day.  Change shoes daily as it takes 48+ hours for a sweaty shoe to dry out (this is where bacteria growth thrives).  Proper shoe fit throughout a lifetime is critical to “happy feet”!  More on this topic later.  http://www.wikihow.com/Care-for-Your-Feet-and-Toenails
