Human Trafficking in York County
On April 16, York County District Attorney Dave Sunday discussed the opiod epidemic in York County and how it relates to human trafficking. Drug addiction places vulnerable human beings at risk of being exploited and essentially enslaved as drug dealers or prostitutes. In 2005, the Human Trafficking Task Force was formed as a partnership between the YWCA and York County law enforcement agencies. Although we may think that it can’t happen here, it does on a daily basis.
