York County DA’s  Forensic Team and Cyber Team

On April 3, 2018, Sergeant Scott James spoke to the York-East Rotary Club members about the Crime Scene Investigation team that has been assembled by the Office of the District Attorney for York County.  The team is comprised of members of law enforcement agencies from around the county, effectively on loan from other police departments when the need arises.

He emphasized the need to secure crime scenes from outside contamination or changes that could affect the interpretation of the information which is collected after a crime has been committed.  His intention is to give a voice to the victim of a crime who, if deceased, no longer has a voice of its own.  The job of the Cyber Team is to attempt to retrieve information from electronic devices which might contain information relating to a crime.  These teams are on call 24/7 and are recognized as experts beyond the confines of York County.
