Katherine Wagner-Elfner and Nate Elfner spoke to the York East Rotary Club about their recent purchase of the Burg Funeral Home in Red Lion and their plans for a new facility on Cape Horn Road. The couple shared how the Wagner, Elfner, Burg Funeral Home will continue the long-standing tradition of compassionate service to families while also modernizing their operations to better serve the community. The new Cape Horn Road facility is designed to provide a welcoming, comfortable environment for families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Wagner-Elfner and Elfner emphasized their commitment to not only serving families but also educating the public about the range of services the funeral home provides. They believe that open conversations about funeral planning and grief support can help ease the burden on families during times of loss. They explained that many people are unaware of the wide range of options available, including pre-planning services, grief support resources, and personalized celebrations of life. By engaging with the community through presentations and outreach, they hope to help families better understand the planning process and feel more confident making end-of-life decisions. The couple also spoke about their deep sense of community and shared one of their most meaningful experiences—providing services for the families of the three Northern York County Regional Police officers who were killed in the line of duty. With the support of the community, they were honored to help the families and to ensure the officers were remembered with dignity and respect.
