It's about Change

May 14, 2024 - In a poignant address to the York East Rotary Club, Corey Wolfe, with the non-profit organization, The Program, It’s about Change, emphasized the need for second chances for recently released prison inmates. Wolfe, a passionate advocate for criminal justice reform, outlined the mission of his non-profit during his speech. He spoke about the organization's dedication to providing support, resources, and opportunities for individuals reintegrating into the community after serving time behind bars. "Every person deserves a second chance," Wolfe declared to a captivated audience. "It's not just about reducing recidivism rates; it's about fostering a society that believes in redemption and rehabilitation." Wolfe said the first days, weeks, and months of freedom to a parolee are the most critical to his or her success. Volunteers with the organization help them to find jobs, find a place to live and even reunite with family members.  Wolfe's non-profit has garnered widespread acclaim for its innovative approach to reentry services, which include job training, housing assistance, counseling, and mentorship programs. Through partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations, the organization has helped dozens of former inmates rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society.
