 To view meeting: https://youtu.be/Z-xFzlgltAo August 13, 2024 - Aimee Jo Morris, founder and director of Glenn Hope Farm, delivered an inspiring presentation to the local York East Rotary Club on Tuesday, sharing the impactful work her nonprofit organization is doing to support York County veterans. Glenn Hope Farm, located in southern York County near Otter Creek is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where veterans can heal, grow, and find purpose through agricultural and therapeutic activities. Aimee Jo Morris a United States Marine Corps veteran who holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a Master’s degree in Kinesiology. She is currently working in the mental health field and in 2018 transitioned their family farm into a non-profit to support the physical and mental health of local veterans. Her goal was to make the farm be bridge the gap of services offered to veterans. During her presentation, she highlighted the various programs offered at the farm, which include equine therapy, horticulture, and sustainable farming practices. These programs are designed to help veterans reconnect with nature, develop new skills, and build a supportive community. "Many of our veterans struggle with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, often feeling isolated after their service," Morris explained. "At Glenn Hope Farm, we provide them with a space where they can rediscover their sense of purpose and belonging. The farm's therapeutic environment helps them heal mentally and emotionally while learning valuable skills that can aid in their reintegration into society." Aimee also spoke about the farm's partnership with local organizations and businesses that support its mission. Through these collaborations, Glenn Hope Farm has been able to expand its services and reach more veterans in need. She expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club for their interest in the farm's work and encouraged members to get involved through volunteer opportunities or financial support. "Every contribution, whether it's time, resources, or donations, makes a significant difference in the lives of the veterans we serve," Morris said. "Our goal is to continue growing and offering more programs that address the diverse needs of our veteran community." |
