Join your friends - members of the Harrisburg Peace Garden Association, The Rotary Club of Harrisburg, Physicians for Social Responsibility, and supporters of peace and the Harrisburg Peace Garden - on September 22 to celebrate another successful year for this special place, now in its 37th year.

A community accomplishment like this deserves a party! In the thirty-six years since the Harrisburg-Hershey chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility founded the Harrisburg Peace Garden, the beauty of the garden and the messages displayed throughout the space have welcomed and inspired countless members of the greater Harrisburg community. It is one of the most well-known, and loved, areas of the city.

Maintaining this space takes a lot of work - almost entirely by volunteers - and a fair amount of money for plants, irrigation, and some hired maintenance. And that means we need to make this party a fundraiser as well. So please attend, and bring a friend! We’ll have plenty of food, a complimentary glass of wine or beer, and a cash bar - all to support the goal of world-wide peace that inspired Dr. Jim Jones, the Garden’s founder. As a special treat, we’ll view a short video about the project that was produced in 1990.
