Carlise and Carlisle Sunrise each received a $500 District Environmental Grant to plant a raparian buffer along the Yellow Breeches, near Barnitz Church.  There are several opportunities to assist these efforts and show the Rotary flag (t-shirt).  Please RSVP to Jonathan Daniels at jonboar@aol.com or Chad Greenlee at cgreenlee285@gmail.com.
 

Future Scheduled Planting Dates at Barnitz for volunteers:
 

• This Saturday, October 7th, 10-Noon

• Sunday, October 15th, 1-3PM

• Wednesday, October 18th, Noon to 3PM

• Sunday, October 29th, 1-3PM

• Friday, November 3rd, 10-2PM

We will have some tools available Saturday. If you can bring your own tools, that would be very helpful. Please let us know. We will need the following:

• Shovels (ideally a drain spade style to help with planting the long narrow roots. Example: 
  Kobalt 32.5-in Wood D-Handle Drain Spade in the Shovels & Spades department at Lowes.com. But if you don't have one like this, any planting shovel will do!)

• Wheelbarrows (for transporting the wood chips mulch) 

• Pitch forks (for moving the mulch chips)

• Gloves, boots, work clothes, RAIN GEAR! (Please let us know what you can bring or not when you RSVP!)
