Rotary Minute:
By Jim Morr; “District Governor Tidbits” Our District was founded in 1915. Since its inception as District 9, it has had 8 numeric designations. The most recent change in 1961 when we became District 6400 from District 640. I believe that Mary is the 97th District Governor of our District. She is the 21st District Governor for District 6400, and is the third female Governor. 2 of our District Governors have gone on to become RI Presidents, Dick Hedke (Detroit 1946-47) and Hugh Archer (Dearbor 1989-1990). 8 of our District Governors have served as RI Directors, the most recent Mike McCullough of Trenton. Only 1 Monroe Rotarian has beome a District Governor, Steve Boyan who served as Governor in the Rotary of 1966-67.

-Oct. 12 is Monroe High School Homecoming football game. You can purchase presale tickets now from Dr. Yentz or Ed Harwood. Proceeds go towards the Monroe Education Foundation to help support a mini-grants program.
- IPP John Betrus made a special Thank you to all of the Rotarians who came out to the dedication of the Nature Center.
-SMCC Interact now has 100 members.

Presentation:
Governor Mary Kehoe and Monroe Rotary Foundation Chair Paul Howey presented Paul Harris Society Certificates and pins to our newest Paul Harris Fellows; Nancy Young, Steve Pipis, Irving Hwang, Ryan Timiney.
Special recogintion to Paul Harris Fellows +1s Level Rotarians Serge Bourgeois and Bill LaVoy.
Special recognition to the Paul Harris Fellow +4 Level Rotarians Patty Thompson, +5 Gean Guyor, +8 Dave & Susan Mehregan and Dr. Nair.
Governor Mary continued her presentation during her annual visit to spreak about RI President Tanaka's theme for the year, RI strategic plans and our District Goals. Our District Goals are as follows:
1. One collaborative project, fundraiser or social event in each area.
2. Implement a District Global Grant - Literacy/Education/Water Project
3. Increase net District membership by 98 members
4. Improve literacy locally & internationally
5. Every Rotarian Every Year. achieve 90%
6. Increase annual giving by 10% for a total of $328,000
